The area and things to do

Pender Harbour encompasses Madeira Park, Kleindale, Garden Bay and Irvines Landing.  The complex network of waterways that connect the region, historically called the Venice of the North, is now known as Resort Country due to the vast array of leisure activities and vacation properties.

Nature enthusiasts will enjoy hiking, mountain biking, swimming, dozens of marine and provincial parks, ecological reserves, eco-tours, and plenty of untouched wilderness teeming with wildlife.

Want to kick it up a notch? Get your adrenaline pumping and try surfing or kayaking the rapids of world-famous Skookumchuck narrows, gear up with your bike to explore Coast Gravity Park, or join the best downhill racers in the world at the Attack of Danger Bay Longboard Race. The area also offers some of the world’s best diving, rewarding fishing charters, and rentals of power boats and jetskis.

If serenity is more your style, take a sea kayak, canoe or stand-up paddle board and explore the numerous waterways and pristine lakes. Enjoy a yoga retreat, chilling at the beach, floating around on one of the warmest lakes in BC, or watching a spectacular sunset over the ocean.

Interested in the local culture? Explore historic sites & heritage centers, visit local artist galleries, and check out the numerous festivals and events including the renowned Art Crawl.  Many are open all year long for your enjoyment.

If you’re more of a “glamper”, you’re in luck! You’ll find some of the best fine dining with farm to table produce and local seafood, luxurious oceanfront spas including swimming pools and saunas, and plenty of unique shopping boutiques and galleries to find a special keepsake or gift close by as well.
